Memories are Made Around the Fire
There’s no mention of a campfire in our beloved “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” but we all know instinctively that when the cowboys were singing about the stars at night and the wide, high prairie sky, they were most certainly doing so around a fire. Today, we love to sit outside with our loved ones, sharing drinks, stories, laughter, and tears around the fire on a cool (ok, maybe not so cool) Texas night.
Design-wise, a rustic stone fireplace or firepit provides a focal point in the summer, and in the fall and winter it’s just begging you to bring out the cushioned chairs, blankets, and maybe even a cast-iron dutch oven. Using more natural materials such as wood, rough stones, or brick can contribute to that rustic feel. If your style tends more toward modern and elegant, white stone or brick are gorgeous options. Functionally, your fireplace or pit may simply provide a place of comfort, serve as a gathering spot for company, or be completely outfitted for outdoor cooking.
